Smart Grid Lab

The Intelligent Control of Urban and Built Environments (ICUBE)
The Intelligent Control of Urban and Built Environments (ICUBE) test bed enables researchers to study and document how to improve environmental quality and energy efficiency in “built” environments, such as offices, schools, homes and surrounding urban settings. The test bed allows researchers to study the office environment and its energy burden under real-world conditions, rather than in a test chamber setting, as is normally done.
Field Demonstration Sites
Field demonstration sites in Syracuse, NY have been used since 2007 for SyracuseCoE to collaborate with community partners to conduct feasibility studies and field demonstration projects at more than 60 sites, including homes, commercial buildings, and whole neighborhoods.
